Wheeling Planning Commission Meeting Slated for Monday

Public Encouraged to View Virtually due to COVID-19 Space Limitations

The Wheeling Planning Commission will meet at 5 p.m., Monday in City Council Chambers on the first floor of the City-County Building, 1500 Chapline Street. The public is encouraged to view the meeting virtually due to COVID-19 space limitations.

Tom Connelly, director of the building and planning department, explained that due to social distancing requirements, seating in council chambers will be very limited.

“I’ve consulted with the health department and the general public seating capacity is 20. Taking into consideration the representatives of the organizations who will be attending to address the commission regarding the three agenda items, approximately eight seats remain for anyone else wishing to attend. Therefore, we are encouraging the general public to observe the meeting virtually,” he said, noting it will be live streamed on City’s Facebook page as well as West Liberty University’s Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, TopperStation.com and live on Comcast Channel 14.

The Special Area Plan/Comprehensive Plan Amendment: GC&P Development, LLC is an item on the agenda slated to be addressed by commissioners along with a zone change request for 200/1108 West Washington Avenue and a public hearing for a Class II Home Occupation request.
