Wheeling Police Make Graffiti Arrest

A Wheeling man has been criminally charged after vandalizing several buildings in the downtown area earlier this month.

Police announced Monday that Seth Michael Robinson, 33 of Wheeling was arrested and charged with two counts of destruction of property. The arrest stems from two separate incidents where its believed Robinson painted graffiti on two properties in downtown.

Police started their investigation on Nov. 18 when a building in the 1500 block of Market Street was reported vandalized with paint.

A second incident occurred on Dec. 6 in the 1300 block of Water Street, where the arrestee was caught in the act by police. Around 6 a.m. that morning, police receiving a report of a suspicious person carrying a ladder in the downtown area. Shortly after, police found Robinson painting the exterior wall of a building, where he was arrested and taken into custody.

After further investigation, Robinson was charged and arrested again last week regarding the Nov. 18 incident.

Robinson was arraigned by an Ohio County magistrate where he was released on a personal recognizance bond. The investigation continues and more charges are possible.

Police want to remind citizens and businesses to always call 9-1-1 should they observe suspicious or criminal activity.
