Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary Announces ‘Snow Ball’ – A New Celebration for Student Volunteers

Wheeling, WV – The Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary is proud to announce the creation of a new event, the Snow Ball, designed to honor and celebrate the dedicated student volunteers of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. This elegant evening will take place on Saturday, February 7 at Glessner Auditorium and promises to be a memorable occasion for students, families, and supporters of the arts.

For decades, the Viennese Ball was a cherished tradition in our community—a night of music, dancing, and celebration that many senior students eagerly anticipated. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the Viennese Ball will not take place this year. Recognizing the disappointment this brings to students and their families, the Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary has stepped forward to reimagine the experience and ensure that these young volunteers receive the recognition they deserve.

“I just couldn’t imagine the disappointment of students and their families who have dreamed about participating in the Ball for so many years,” said Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary President Ronna-Renee Jackson“We are grateful for the years that the Viennese Ball Committee served this community, and we believe that this reimagined gala can continue some of the traditions while raising money for the Symphony too.”

The Snow Ball will feature a formal introduction of student volunteers and a brief traditional dance, followed by a lively dance party, where all guests can join in the celebration. The gala will preserve the spirit of elegance and community that made the Viennese Ball so special while providing a new experience to recognize our young volunteers and support the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra.

The Auxiliary is committed to producing an event that is both beautiful and financially sustainable, but we need your help. Sponsorship opportunities range from $150 to $10,000, and every contribution will help us honor these students while supporting the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s mission to bring world-class music to our region.

Tickets will be available soon, and additional details—including sponsorship information—will be posted at wheelingsymphonyauxiliary.com

Join us in making the Snow Ball a night to remember. Together, we can celebrate our students, preserve beloved traditions, and ensure the future of symphonic music in our community.
