Wheeling YWCA Introduces Cultural Escape Rooms

Ladies & gentlemen, it is my distinct pleasure to invite you to a truly unique experience in the Ohio Valley. We at the YWCA Wheeling have worked towards eliminating racism & empowering women since 1906. One of the ways we do so is our Cultural Diversity & Community Outreach Department.

Our current CDCO Director, Ron Scott Jr, has been presenting and providing training on Cultural Diversity and Cultural Competency for the last six years. We have decided to take a more hands-on approach toward our cultural goals. We partnered with Glasseye Worx, and Wheeling Heritage to provide a series of Culturally Specific Escape Rooms. For the next 6-7 months, we will be offering the opportunity to participate in Escape Rooms based in different cultures that exist within our communities.

Our first Escape Room is themed in the Hawaiian/Polynesian culture. It is called The Last Queen of Hawaii. On March 31st 6pm-9pm & April 1st 1pm-5pm, we will be having a special media session. We are inviting select groups and all members of the media to participate in the Escape Room before it is open to the public. Food will be provided by Around The World Gourmet.

We encourage each of you receiving this message to get a group of 3-8 individuals together and participate in the media session. If you cannot, we at least encourage you to come down and possibly get some coverage on what I guarantee will be a truly unique and impactful event.

To schedule a time to participate, please contact me at (304)281-7020 or cdcodirector@ywcawheeling. Act now because the spots are filling up fast.
