Wheeling’s Planning Commission to Meet Virtually

Out of an abundance of caution due to rising number of COVID-19 cases in Ohio County, the Wheeling Planning Commission’s upcoming meeting will be held virtually and not in City Council Chambers where they are usually conducted.

Slated for 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9, the web meeting will be live streamed on the Wheeling WV City Government Facebook page.

Director of Building and Planning Tom Connelly explained the public will still have the opportunity to observe the proceedings and provide input where appropriate, noting all meeting materials are available on the City’s website at https://www.wheelingwv.gov/meetings/582/.

Connelly said that Item 3.1 on the agenda, Zone Change Request for northwest corner of 32nd and McColloch streets, requires a public hearing.  Citizens who wish to offer comments can do so by calling Connelly at (304) 234-3702 before noon on Monday to obtain Zoom login information.

Connelly said the other agenda items are not public hearings, so comments will not be taken, however citizens are still able to observe the proceedings as with any public meeting.
