West Liberty University’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is presenting an open-mic night with performances by two hip-hop artists and DJ Rage. Open to the public, this is a free concert that is part of Topperfest, welcoming activities for students.
The concert starts at 8 p.m. on the Quad.
“This concert is planned to give students a chance to let their voices be heard and to bring campus together through music with award-winning artists,” said Dr. Monique L. Akassi, who leads the office of DEI.
The open mic will be offered for spoken word. Artists performing include:
· DJ Rage, who lives in St. Clairsville, Ohio, will perform and act as emcee.
· Isaiah Keez, originally from Florida, and a WLU alumnus will perform and is looking forward to his return to campus.
· Givenchy Bandz, a local artist who tours nationally with award-winning artists.
James Watt of Martins Ferry, Ohio will manage the performances.
