WPD Investigating Late-Sunday Vehicular Crash

Wheeling Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred around 11:10 p.m. Sunday at the U.S. 250 / I-70 interchange at the McColloch Street exit.

An officer patrolling the roadway located the vehicle that crashed. After assessing the scene, the officer called for additional units and medical assistance.

Four people were inside the car, which rolled several times. All were transported to Wheeling Hospital. One of the passengers was ejected and seriously hurt and was later taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor. Units cleared the scene around 3:30 a.m. The crash remains under investigation by WPD.
