The Wheeling concert is the final stop of the WSO’s Celebrate America Tour which will begin in Weirton, WV on Friday, July 1, perform in Clarksburg, WV on Saturday, July 2 and Canaan Valley on Saturday, July 3rd.   All concerts are free and open to the public, but donations to the WSO are appreciated.

Music Director John Devlin looks forward to touring with the orchestra and sharing the remarkable talents of local musicians Isaiah Keez and Eli Lambie.  “Now that I have been a part of the Wheeling community for a few years, I’m getting to know the talented musicians who make the Ohio Valley their home.  Eli Lambie has frequently played piano and keyboard with the orchestra and his band “The Mojo Kings” are a hometown favorite.  Isaiah Keez is an up-and-coming Hip-Hop artist and rapper that I have become acquainted with over the last year or so.  When the orchestra, Eli and Isaiah come together on the same stage, we are going to have some musical fireworks – that’s for sure.”

Robert Herron, Wheeling’s City Manager, is eager to welcome the community back to the Heritage Port Amphitheater.  “We are really proud of Wheeling’s July 4th celebration.  There is nothing quite like listening to the orchestra as the sun sets behind the hills and watching the fireworks explode high above the river.  It’s just a great day for families and friends to gather and celebrate.”

Jeffrey Morris, President of Roxby Development, is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of the Celebrate America tour.  “The revitalization of our downtown is the heart and soul of Roxby. The cultural pulse of our city goes hand-in-hand with its economic development. The WSO and Maestro Devlin are breathing life into the region by creating magical experiences, some within Roxby’s otherworldly venues. The word has spread from those experiences, and as a result, our partnership has already started to produce indirect, yet quantifiable returns. We look forward to investing in the WSO for many years to come.”

The Celebrate America July 4th Tour is presented by Roxby Development and the Wheeling concert at Heritage Port Amphitheater is sponsored by the City of Wheeling with additional support from WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and WVU Medicine Reynolds.
