WVDOH Projects Taking Place in Wheeling this Week

Ohio County, WV – Below is information released this week concerning a number of interstate projects scheduled for I-70 and I-470 in the near future.

The westbound lane of Interstate 70 at Mile Marker 12 near Wheeling will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., beginning Monday, August 18, 2025, through Wednesday, August 20, 2025, for paving. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect slight delays.

Plus, both lanes of Interstate 70 eastbound, near the Wheeling Tunnel, will have intermittent closures, and the Market Street on-ramp to Interstate 70 westbound, will be closed, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, for tunnel maintenance. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route and to slow down and expect delays.

Alternate Route: Use US 40 or Interstate 470 to WV 2.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
