I-470 Exit 1 Closed, New Projects on Interstates Announced by WVDOH

Exit 1 on Interstate 470 will be closed to US 250/WV 2, in the eastbound direction, from Wednesday, March 5, 2025, through mid-May 2025, for road construction. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

A few different projects in the Wheeling area will begin soon, including:

Interstate 470 will have ramp A, in the westbound direction closed, at milepost 0.35, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Monday, March 17, 2025, for bridge inspection. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays.

A portion of Interstate 70 westbound, will have the right lane closed, outside the Wheeling Tunnel, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, for bridge inspection. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays.

AND …

The Interstate 70, eastbound right lane will be closed near the Exit 2A ramp. Also, the Exit 2A ramp will be restricted to one lane, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 20, 2025, for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays.

Alternate Route: Use Interstate 70, eastbound, Exit 2B (Oglebay) to Washington Avenue Bridge to Interstate 70 westbound then to Exit 2A.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances may change the schedules for these projects.
