Youth Services System, Inc. to host 18th Annual Celebrate Youth Festival

-

WHEELING, W.Va.— Youth Services System, Inc. (YSS) is excited to host its 18th annual Celebrate Youth Festival on August 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wheeling Park. This free community event brings together youth and families for a day filled with fun, activities, and valuable resources. The festival is open to the public and includes free park wristbands, back-to-school supplies, lunch, and a variety of engaging activities.

Each year, around 60 local exhibitors volunteer their time to participate in the festival, offering information and resources focused on children’s health, education, and overall well-being. YSS staff and community volunteers assist by distributing school supplies and lunches, leading arts and crafts, and helping connect families with vital community services.

Returning exhibitors, such as the Wheeling Nailers, West Virginia Northern Community College, Oglebay Good Zoo, and Northwood Health Systems, among many others, contribute to the event by offering entertainment, educational information, and health-related resources.

WVU Medicine is one of this year’s Diamond Level sponsors. Jessica Moore, Associate Vice President of Foundation and Community Relations for WVU Medicine—Wheeling Hospital, says, “We believe a healthy community starts with strong families and supported students.” Moore continues, “WVU Medicine is proud to support Celebrate Youth to help ensure every child starts the school year with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.”

The Celebrate Youth Festival is a highly anticipated event in the community, drawing thousands of attendees each year. Families often arrive early to take full advantage of all that the day has to offer. The complimentary park wristbands provided by YSS grant access to activities including the pool, mini-golf, and paddle boat rides.

Jill Eddy, CEO of YSS, comments, “We look forward to this event every year. Assuring that children and families are aware of local resources and how to access them is vital to their success.” This festival is a joyful celebration of community, connection and the start of a new school year.
