Each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, we celebrate Giving Tuesday, a day to show support for non-profits and their philanthropic efforts. This year the special day falls on Tuesday, November 29th. Thanks to an anonymous donation, Youth Services System, Inc. will be matching all contributions up to $15,000 made between now and November 29th. This essentially means that all donations will be doubled, increasing the impact it makes on YSS’s Mission to create better futures for children, families and our community.

“This is the perfect time for you to be a blessing,” said YSS Director of Development, Staci Stephen. “Thanks to an anonymous donor, every donation you make from now until November 29th will be matched dollar for dollar up to $15,000. All donations will go towards providing assistance to those in need. You can also make in-kind donations of boots, shoes, coats, blankets, hats, gloves or any warm clothing.”

“November is National Runaway Prevention Month, which is the perfect time to raise awareness about runaway and homeless youth,” said YSS Digital Media & Communications Coordinator Tucker Riggleman. “We operate two Emergency Youth Shelters and a Transitional Living Program, which provides housing and life skills to youth ages 17-21. This Giving Tuesday campaign is a great way to continue to support these vital programs.”

There are multiple ways to give, including through the YSS Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/youthservicessystem), Instagram (@ysswheeling), or by texting “YSSWV” to 44-321. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 6041 – Wheeling, WV 26003 or dropped by the main office at 87 15th Street. In-kind donations can be made by calling 304-233-9627 and scheduling a donation appointment. A visit to www.youthservicessystem.org will provide even more ways to give.
