For once, good advice can be found on social media. It’s difficult to believe, certainly, but it is true thanks to Debbie Joseph’s August 4th state update.

It reads:

“Let’s begin practicing this now:

  • When a friend says she is sending her kids back to school:
  • Our response: Man! I am so proud of you! I know that wasn’t an easy choice to make.
  • When a friend says she is doing virtual learning with her kids.
  • Our response: Man! I am so proud of you! I know that wasn’t an easy choice to make.
  • When a friend says she is home schooling her kids:
  • Our response: Man! I am so proud of you! I know that wasn’t an easy choice to make.

ALWAYS BE KIND. We’re ALL trying to do our best in the most difficult times any of us have likely faced in our lives. ALWAYS BE KIND.”

It really is that simple.

Mothers and fathers are faced with a very difficult decision concerning their children and the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year. Do they send them to the same school buildings they were booted out of in March in the name of safety from Covid-19? Or do they opt for a continued quarantine and virtual learning?

No matter, let’s respect.

Sincerely,
