-

The West Liberty University Wind Symphony will be presenting their first of two concert series on at 6 p.m.Thursday, March 24 in College Hall on the WLU campus.

The first concert, titled Masterworks, will feature original works by Gustav Holst, John Philip Sousa, as well as transcriptions for the band by Morten Lauridsen and H. Robert Reynolds.

The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted for those who would wish to make a contribution to the music program.

Just like its sister ensemble – the University Concert Band, the Wind Symphony is an internationally recorded ensemble, according to Pohlman-Bassett.

The Wind Symphony is composed of music majors, non-music majors, and WLU instrumental faculty, and community members.

The second concert in this series will take place at 6 p.m., April 28 in College Hall.
