ARC-PA Approves Temporary Increase in Class Size for WLU’s PA Program

-

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has approved a temporary increase in class size for the esteemed Physician Assistant (PA) program at West Liberty University for the Class of 2024 students. This decision comes following a comprehensive review of the program’s documentation and adherence to the ARC-PA standards.

The approved class size increase is intended to accommodate incoming PA clinical students from Alderson Broaddus University beginning the week of September 4. The PA program is authorized to accept all 21 Alderson Broaddus PA students to join the 2024 cohort for 12 months of clinical clerkships reflecting the program’s commitment to providing high-quality education and meeting the evolving needs of students and the medical community.

The PA program at West Liberty University remains committed to delivering exceptional education and training to its students, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the medical field. The program’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of quality education has been instrumental in securing the ARC-PA’s approval for the temporary increase in class size.

“We are grateful to the ARC-PA for their approval of our plan to assist the AB PA students. This important step recognizes the tireless efforts of the WLU PA Program faculty and staff and the West Liberty University administration and employees over the last three weeks to develop a comprehensive plan to allow these students to complete their PA education. West Virginia will benefit from additional caring and competent healthcare professionals.” remarks WLU PA program director, Sarah G. Brammer, MSPAS, PA-C.
