Christmas Scavenger Hunt Continues in Wheeling

-

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping for a little fun via a virtual 12 Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt hosted by the City of Wheeling’s Parks & Recreation Department.

The free event kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 9 and runs through Dec. 20. Parks & Recreation Director Rochelle Barry explained the goal of the scavenger hunt is to earn points while completing the challenges.

“Challenges include taking a picture, scanning a code or typing a password. Each photo must include at least one person and selfies are permitted. Challenges will be listed in the SCAVR app beginning Dec. 9 and all photos, codes and passwords will be submitted through the app,” she said, noting the app is free and available for Apple or Android devices.

Barry added participants should check the Parks & Recreation social media pages throughout the 12 days for additional pop-up points to be added to the total. Depending on the number of points earned, a certain number of raffle entries will be entered for prizes. A raffle ticket for your team, from one to eight players, will be entered for every 25 points earned. For example, 1-25 points equals one entry; 26-50 points equals two entries; 51-75 points equals three entries; and so on.

Barry stressed throughout the Scavenger Hunt participants should follow all laws and should NOT trespass on private property.
