Friday, April 5, Woodsdale Elementary School will host a unique opportunity for all students grades K-5.

Woodsdale’s Annual Mental Health Fair will afford students interesting opportunities to learn more about their own health and well-being.

School Counselor, Allyson Kangisser states, “The purpose is to bring awareness to mental health, especially at a young age.  Prevention is key and we want to expose students to various community agencies that can offer support.”

West Liberty University, West Virginia University, Communities in Schools, and Expanded School Mental Health are just a few of the facilities that will be joining in the event.  WVU is even bringing their recent “Big Brain Exhibit.”

Through attending, “We hope to reduce stigmas around talking about mental health and asking for help.  We also hope our students learn about the brain and healthy choices and most importantly, we hope the students have fun!” Kangisser states.
