Friday’s Free Movie Night to Feature ‘Wicked For Good’

WHEELING, W.Va. – Follow the yellow brick road to Heritage Port on Friday, Aug. 21, when the City of Wheeling hosts a free Movie Night featuring Wicked For Good. The movie will begin at dusk.

Community members are invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening along the waterfront. Admission is free, and no reservations are required.

The second installment in the Wicked film series, Wicked For Good continues the story of Elphaba and Glinda following the events of the first movie. Elphaba, now known as the Wicked Witch of the West, continues to fight against the Wizard of Oz while Glinda has embraced her role as a public figure and symbol of goodness. As their paths cross again, the two must confront the choices they have made and the forces threatening the people and creatures of Oz. The film stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

The 2025 film, directed by Jon M. Chu, is rated PG.

“We had such a great response when we screened Wicked at Heritage Port last year, so we thought it would be fun to bring everyone back for the next chapter,” said Parks and Recreation Director Rochelle Barry. “Movie nights at Heritage Port are a great way to enjoy an evening at one of Wheeling’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.”
