WFD Responds to House Fire on Vance Avenue in Warwood

WHEELING – Around 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, the Wheeling Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2500 block of Vance Avenue in Warwood. Firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the rear first-floor area of the unoccupied home.

The fire caused significant damage to the home, and a neighboring residence sustained minor heat damage. One firefighter suffered a minor injury; no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

B Platoon Units with Engine Co. 2, 5, 8, and 9, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, and Squad 2 responded to the scene.
