Trinity Health System Hosts Flag-Raising at West Campus

April is National Donate Life Month!

Steubenville, Ohio – April 7, 2025 Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, at 11 a.m., Trinity Health System will host a flag-raising in honor of Donate Life Month in front of Trinity Medical Center West, 4000 Johnson Road, in Steubenville. A donor quilt, which includes a donor from Steubenville, will also be displayed in our main lobby.

This donor and their family will be present for the flag-raising and will be happy to talk with the media, along with Jessica Porter, our onsite donor coordinator. Laurie Labishak, Market Director, Marketing and Communications, will be available to coordinate these interviews.

Background on National Donate Life Month

It’s amazing to think one person can save up to 8 lives through organ donation and provide healing for more than 75 through tissue donation.

National Donate Life Month (NDLM) is a time to honor those generous donors who have saved and healed lives through the gift of donation. It’s also a time to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation and encourage people to register their donation decision.

  • Nearly 3,000 Ohioans are waiting for a lifesaving transplant, and
  • More than half of Ohioans have registered their decision to be a donor in the Ohio Donor Registry.

NDLM was established by Donate Life America (DLA) and its partnering organizations in 2003 and is observed annually each April. This year’s theme is, “Let Life Sing,” and features several types of birds on the campaign graphic.

According to the DLA website, birds were chosen “because they are known across many cultures as one of the most welcomed and visible signs of spring. They represent both new beginnings and visits from loved ones who have passed away. The yearly return of birds and their songs offer us a sense of peace and hope.”
