For the last three decades, continuing through today, many begin their holiday season with a local staple: Wheeling Park High School’s Festival of Sound. “I think the label of ‘concert’ is a little misleading,” states OCS director of Public Relations, Karin Butyn, “Festival of Sound is truly an interactive experience.”
The experience includes the best of the best for the Arts in Ohio County Schools. Students in the strings, band, and choir programs at Wheeling Park High School offer a distinct variety of selections that not only entertain the audience but spread feelings of joy and holiday nostalgia to students, staff, and audience members alike. Our arts programs display some of their finest work at the event. As a whole, the experience shows community members everything the Arts in Ohio County has to offer.

This year specifically is unique. Festival of Sound is celebrating its 30th year and this show will welcome back alumni of the past, celebrate the students of the present, and embrace the soon-to-be Patriots of the future. In addition to welcoming back alumni, several legendary music teachers will join in the festivities, including Mr. and Mrs. Garrett, Mr. Podolski, Mrs. Aspenwall, Mr. Belchick, and Mrs. Mitch.
Whether you have a direct connection to the experience that is Festival of Sound, or you just want to spend an evening or afternoon immersed in talent and holiday spirit, this is one show you do not want to miss.
Festival of Sound will be held at the J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center on Friday, 12/12 and Saturday, 12/13, at 7:00 P.M., concluding with a Sunday matinee on 12/14 at 2:00 P.M.
