I don’t cook steak much.  It’s one of those things I think tastes better done at a restaurant.  I love reinventing meals I have out to eat at home in my kitchen, but not steaks. Maybe I’m just impatient. (I admittedly cook everything on medium high heat.) But because it was Christmas, my boyfriend and I wanted to make a big, nice meal.  He picked up a pretty ribeye for me at Reisbeck’s and got himself a bone in pork chop. I cooked them both on the stove.  His was dry and mine was just okay.

The following week was New Year’s.  He bought me a Delmonico steak and himself a couple of boneless chops.  Determined not to mess it up again (they were eatable, just not great) I seared the Delmonico and put it in the oven under the boiler. It’s possible that the smoke alarm went off. *sigh*.  The steak actually wasn’t burnt, but oven was just in need of a self cleaning.  I made a good call by making the chops in my air fryer and they turned out flavorful and juicy.

This past week he bought thick cut, bone in pork chops that I made just on the stove top and they turned out well, too. But we decided our favorite outcome was the air fryer.  Pork goes on sale so often locally, I thought I would share this easy one.

The seasonings used on pork chops is completely up to cook!

Ingredients:

  • 2 decent sized pork chops
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powered
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Olive oil
A plate of food.
The air fryer is a perfect way to prepare the pork chops.

Instructions:

  1. Drizzle olive oil on the chops and evenly distribute the seasoning on both sides of both chops.
  2. Set the air fryer to 390 and cook chops for 12 minutes, flipping at 8 minutes.
  3. Make sure to check the temperature to make sure it’s done at 145 degrees. If it’s a thick chop, check the temp at 12 minutes and add a minute at a time until they are done. If you have thin chops or loins, cook for 10 minutes.

I love bacon brussel sprouts as a side.

Enjoy!
