Murray Stafford’s ‘This Week’s Weather’ for the Wheeling Area

-

Monday 02/03/2025

On Monday we can expect warm temperatures in the 50’s, but a Cold Front will cross over us Monday night bringing chances of rain and possibly light Snow for locations near Lake Erie.

Tuesday 02/04/2025

Expect much cooler temperatures on Tuesday with highs reaching only into the 30’s. High Pressure approaching from the Northwest will help to clear our skies, and so, we could see breaks of sunshine on Tuesday.

Wednesday 02/05/2025

On Wednesday a weak wave of Low Pressure will pass to the South of the Ohio Valley. This will bring back clouds and increasing chances of rain, especially Wednesday night. Once again, highs will only be in the 30’s.

Thursday 02/06/2025

A stronger Low Pressure system will push into the Ohio Valley on Thursday. This will not only mean rain, but thunderstorms may even be possible. As the system approaches expect warmer temperatures near 50 degrees. But, colder air will be advancing from the North. And so, for locations near Lake Erie the rain could mix with SNOW and SLEET. Because of the intensity of this system, THUNDERSNOW may also be possible near Lake Erie.

Friday 02/07/2025

Friday, strong High Pressure will be approaching from the North. And so, we will get a break from the precipitation, and, breaks of sunshine may be possible. But, the winds will be out of the North which mean cooler temperatures will return with highs only in the 30’s.

Saturday 02/08/2025

Another Low Pressure system will mean more rain for the Ohio Valley on Saturday. And, once again, colder temperatures to our North will mean that the rain could mix with SNOW and SLEET near Lake Erie.

Sunday 02/09/2025

As it looks right now, High Pressure should return by next Sunday, but, with the winds out of the North temperatures will be cooler with highs likely only in the 30’s.

The map is for late Monday (02/03) and it shows a Cold Front crossing over the Ohio Valley.
