WHEELING, W.Va. — Oglebay Park Resort proudly announces that Lindsey Scripture, Vice President of Commercial Strategy, has been named to the WV State Journal’s Generation Next: 40 Under 40, recognizing emerging leaders who are making a significant impact in their industries and communities across West Virginia.
Scripture was selected for her leadership in transforming Oglebay’s brand, marketing strategy, and guest experience while helping position one of West Virginia’s most iconic destinations for continued growth and national recognition.
As Vice President of Commercial Strategy, Scripture led Oglebay’s comprehensive rebrand, including the development of a new brand identity, the launch of a fully redesigned website, employee brand training initiatives, new photography assets, and a refreshed uniform program. She also restructured Oglebay’s marketing department into a Commercial Strategy team focused on aligning brand development, guest experience, and revenue growth.
Under her leadership, Oglebay’s rebrand was recognized as the 2025 Tourism Project of the Year by the West Virginia Department of Tourism. Oglebay has also earned increased national recognition through honors and features from organizations and publications including USA Today, Good Housekeeping, Newsweek, and the World Travel Awards.
“Lindsey is an exceptional leader whose vision, creativity, and commitment to excellence have helped shape the future of Oglebay,” said Bob Peckenpaugh, President and CEO of the Wheeling Park Commission. “She has built a talented team, elevated our brand to new heights, and challenged all of us to think bigger about what Oglebay can become. This recognition is a reflection of the impact she continues to make not only within our organization, but across West Virginia’s tourism industry.”
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Scripture has dedicated more than a decade of service to the Junior League of Wheeling, where she has held numerous leadership positions, including president. She is also passionate about mentoring young professionals and supporting the advancement of women in hospitality leadership.
“I am incredibly honored to be recognized among such an inspiring group of leaders from across West Virginia,” said Scripture. “This award reflects the collective efforts of an amazing team that embraces innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. I am fortunate to work alongside talented professionals who continually challenge one another to grow, and I remain committed to helping develop future leaders while continuing to elevate Oglebay and the hospitality industry throughout our state.”
