One Arrested on Drug Charges by WPD

One person is facing drug charges by the Wheeling Police Department after a traffic stop on Wheeling Island early Wednesday morning. Around 2:15 a.m., police initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of N. Wabash St. and New Jersey St.

When the officer approached the vehicle, they detected a smell of marijuana and noted a passenger concealing items and acting suspicious.

Police then searched the vehicle and occupants and found crack cocaine, heroin and suspected pressed fentanyl individually bagged on one of the passengers, Edauncea Walker, 25 of Wheeling.

As a result, Walker was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver. He also was a wanted person from Belmont County, Ohio on drug trafficking charges. 

Walker was taken to the Northern Regional Jail by WPD. He was arraigned by an Ohio County Magistrate, who set bond at $25,000.
