Original PJ’s Pizza Launches DoorDash Delivery in Moundsville and New Martinsville
Original PJ’s Pizza, one of the area’s favorite pizza restaurants since 1969, announced it has launched home delivery with DoorDash to augment its existing business delivery.
The service is available now to customers in the Moundsville and New Martinsville areas, including McMechen, Glen Dale, Washington Lands, Proctor, Paden City, parts of Sistersville in West Virginia, and Shadyside, Dilles Bottom, Powhatan Point, Clarington, Hannibal, and Sardis, on the Ohio side of the river. It will be accessible by using the DoorDash app or ordering directly from either location.
“We are incredibly excited to be able to extend our delivery area, especially in the New Martinsville area where we have not historically had home delivery. It’s important to us to be able to serve those that may not have the time or ability to stop by and pick up a meal,” said Erika Donaghy, owner of Original PJ’s Pizza with her husband Rob Donaghy.
Menu favorites include the PJ’s Special, a pizza with pepperoni, onions, green peppers, hot peppers, sausage, and a special seasoning called “The Shake,” and PJ’s Works, a pizza fully loaded with green peppers, hot peppers, onions, black and green olives, mushrooms, ham, sausage, and pepperoni.
Recent menu additions include stromboli and wraps at both locations as well as some items only available in the Moundsville area such as soup specials, giant hand-cut burgers, and delicious desserts.
“Not your typical pizza” is an understatement thanks to top-of-the-line ingredients and traditional recipes. Make sure to try out the alfredo made from scratch as well as the traditional bread recipe from the former Varsity Pizzeria where the Moundsville location is now open. That recipe is now the basis for all the sub-buns, burger buns, and dinner rolls. They are baked fresh on-site by the Donaghys and other employees.
“Staying on top of technology and menu trends is paramount when it comes to competing against the big franchise restaurants,” insisted owner Erika Donaghy. “It’s an adapt-or-die economy and support for local businesses is something we all need to be aware of. When we bought the first restaurant in 2016 there was no computer system. Immediately we moved to a point-of-sale system, then a year later we added online ordering at www.originalpjspizza.com. Recently we added an app available for iPhone and Android platforms. DoorDash is just another progression in serving our customers.”
Make sure to stop by your nearest location, order online, order by phone, or dine in at the newly renovated Moundsville restaurant at 2203 Ohio Street.
