Paying for Parking Just Got Easier at the Centre Wheeling Parking Structure

-

Those utilizing the Centre Wheeling Parking Structure will now be required to have a monthly parking pass or must pay for hourly parking via their mobile device with ParkMobile. Cash for hourly parking will no longer be accepted by the garage attendant, effective Monday, April 4.

“New signage has been posted in the parking structure to provide information to drivers on how to pay for parking via their smartphones,” said Assistant City Manager Bill Lanham.

ParkMobile is available for iPhone and Android devices for those who desire to download the free app. Users can also scan a QR code or send a text to a designated number. The QR code and the number appear on the signage posted in the parking structure. Users should then follow the prompts.

Those interested in monthly parking can obtain a pass at the Centre Market garage office or at the Intermodal Transportation Center’s office for a $34 per month fee.

The City of Wheeling launched ParkMobile in October 2020. It’s available at more than 1,200 parking spaces around town at meters and in off-street parking lots. ParkMobile technology is used in thousands of locations across the country, including 8 of the top 10 cities as well as college campuses, airports and stadiums. People can use ParkMobile solutions to quickly pay for on-street and off-street parking without having to use a meter or kiosk.
