The holidays are a fun time, but can be troublesome for those who are alone or are experiencing the holidays without a loved one for the first time.

Project Forward is working with the business community and residents in Martins Ferry, along with city government, to help revitalize Martins Ferry and make it more business and community friendly, both for current and potential residents and businesses.

East Ohio Regional Hospital may also be partnering with Belmont County Senior Services as the two are working on a similar agreement as one announce back in October between the county agency and WVU Medicine and its facilities.

The project had its doubters in the beginning, but so far so good.

Additional growth is expected in the future at the medical facility.

The opening of EORH in Martins Ferry has given the residents back their peace of mind. Now, the city can focus on pushing forward and continuing to improve.

“I think the folks here in Martins Ferry felt as if they had a security blanket if they lived near East Ohio Regional Hospital because that’s what is was,” said Scott Porter. “It just feels different to them now, and that’s completely understandable."
