Todd Cover to Serve as WLU Fall Commencement Speaker

Todd Cover, President and CEO of Belmont Savings Bank, will serve as the keynote speaker for West Liberty University’s (WLU) Fall Commencement Ceremony, taking place at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 14, in the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex (ASRC).

Cover, a distinguished alum of West Liberty University, graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management.

A passionate leader in the community, Cover serves as board vice president for Wheeling Health Right, a board member for the Regional Economic Development (RED) Partnership, West Liberty Foundation board member, a committee member for the Regional Development Funding Corporation, a Wheeling Lions Club member, a board member for Appalachian Growth Capital, and finance committee member for Warwood United Methodist Church. He is also past board president of the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, and currently head baseball coach for Wheeling Central High School. Most recently, Cover received the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley’s 2024 Building a Better Community Award.

“Returning to WLU to speak at commencement is a deeply meaningful moment for me. This institution played such a pivotal role in shaping who I am today, and I’m thrilled to share this special day with the graduates and their families. It’s a privilege to be part of this milestone and to celebrate the incredible achievements of these outstanding graduates,” Cover stated.

West Liberty University’s Fall 2024 graduating class will consist of 127 students representing four colleges and six master’s programs.

The commencement ceremony will be live-streamed on Topper Station for those unable to attend in person. Doors to the ASRC will open at 9:30 a.m., and the ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.
