The Wheeling Fire Department’s Bureau of Fire Investigations stated today the cause of the Saturday, Aug. 13 East Wheeling fire will remain undetermined.
Investigators believe the origin of the fire was on the second-floor kitchen area of 1415 Jacob Street. The area sustained significant fire damage, making it challenging for investigators to currently make a further ruling. In all, five structures caught fire – two are considered a total loss.
