City Clerk Brenda J. Delbert has earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). The program is designed to enhance the job performance of a Clerk.
“I am thankful for the support of the City Manager and Council for encouraging me to obtain my certification. I am grateful that they realize the value in ongoing education. I am excited to say that I have fulfilled all the requirements to join the ranks of CMC,” Delbert said.
Delbert, who has served in the role of Wheeling’s City Clerk since 2018, has a bachelor’s in business administration from West Virginia University and a master’s in business administration from Fairmont State University.
The Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) program is offered through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and is designed to enhance the job performance of the Clerk. To earn the CMC designation, a Municipal Clerk must attend extensive education programs and complete pertinent experience in a municipality.
The CMC program prepares the applicants to meet the challenges of the complex role of the Municipal Clerk by providing them with quality education in partnership with institutions of higher learning, as well as state and national associations. The CMC program has been assisting clerks to excel since 1970.
