Wheeling Heritage – The Monthly Update

-

A Note From the Executive Director… As it always does, fall has begun its arrival and with that comes the onset of a brand new season of activity for Wheeling Heritage. It’s a great segue to all the changes that are happening around us. As I look out my window and watch new sidewalks, new businesses and new art appear, I can’t help but think about our work. Subgrants, partnership grants, small business development, technical assistance…the list goes on. It’s so inspiring to see everyone working together to create a vibrant Wheeling. Thank you for making an impact through your donations, it’s because of your continued support that we can be a catalyst for change. Warmly, What We’ve Been Up To This Month…
Wheeling’s Downtown Historic District Expanded
Earlier this month, Wheeling’s Downtown Historic District was officially expanded to include buildings over 50 years old, broadening eligibility for historic tax credits and incentives. Previously, only buildings up until the mid-1930s were included. This expansion, exemplified by the former Columbia Gas Building and the future Helping Heroes headquarters, showcases the positive impact on Wheeling’s preservation efforts.
