Wheeling’s Downtown Historic District Expanded Earlier this month, Wheeling’s Downtown Historic District was officially expanded to include buildings over 50 years old, broadening eligibility for historic tax credits and incentives. Previously, only buildings up until the mid-1930s were included. This expansion, exemplified by the former Columbia Gas Building and the future Helping Heroes headquarters, showcases the positive impact on Wheeling’s preservation efforts.
