Wheeling Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Edgwood

WHEELING, W.Va. –Wheeling Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Monday night in the Edgwood area of the city. Officers were called to Up on the Lane at the corner of Carmel Road and Edgington Lane just before 10 p.m.

When police arrived, they spoke with an employee who said a white man wearing a blue shirt and a face mask presented a weapon and robbed them. The suspect fled the scene with an unknown amount of money. The employee was not physically injured.

Police searched the area following the incident and are reviewing nearby surveillance footage as the investigation continues.
