WHEELING, W.Va. — Centre Market will once again welcome the community for an afternoon and evening of German-inspired food, music and festivities during its Oktoberfest celebration from noon-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19.
The festive event will showcase the unique charm of Centre Market while celebrating one of the world’s most beloved fall traditions. Guests can enjoy live polka bands throughout the day, browse a variety of shops and visit a beer garden featuring a selection of seasonal fall brews and Oktoberfest favorites. Centre Market businesses will also take part by offering authentic German-inspired meals and specialty menu items, giving visitors an opportunity to sample traditional Oktoberfest cuisine while supporting local businesses.
“Oktoberfest is another opportunity to bring people together at Centre Market while showcasing everything our local businesses have to offer,” said Director of Economic & Community Development Nancy Prager. “Whether you’re coming for the food, music, shopping or simply to enjoy the atmosphere, we hope everyone will join us for a fun-filled day celebrating the season.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit both the United Way and the Centre Market Fund at the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, helping support important community initiatives and the continued vitality of one of Wheeling’s most treasured destinations.
“We are excited to partner with Centre Market to launch Oktoberfest, an event that brings our community together for a great cause. The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley has always believed that lasting change happens when people come together and this partnership is a wonderful example of that spirit in action,” said United Way Executive Director Staci Stephen. “Oktoberfest will not only celebrate one of the Ohio Valley‘s most treasured gathering places, but it will also help raise critical funds that support local programs and services across our region. We look forward to creating a fun memorable tradition that benefits our entire community for years to come.”
The event is made possible through the generous support of its sponsors: Almost Heaven Candle Company, The Stuckey Firm, Main Street Bank, Edward Jones Investments and Visit Wheeling.
