WLU’s Wind Symphony Finishes Off Spring Concert Series

The West Liberty University Wind Symphony will present its final spring concert at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 28 in College Hall on the WLU campus.

The final concert, entitled “Sounds of Joy” will feature current WLU Music Education students Kaitlyn Crow, Kaylin Templeton, and Hunter Ramsey as guest conductors. Literature composed by Andrew Boysen Jr., Anne McGinty, Jennifer Higdon, and Harold Bennett will be performed.

The West Liberty University Wind Symphony is the premiere concert band ensemble within the WLU Division of Music and under the direction of Dr. Gretchen Pohlman-Bassett, WLU director of bands.

“Just like its sister ensemble, the University Concert Band, the Wind Symphony is an internationally recorded ensemble. The Wind Symphony is composed of music majors, non-music majors, WLU instrumental faculty, and community members,” Pohlman-Bassett said.

The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted for those who would wish to make a fiscal contribution to the program.
