WVNCC to Offer Summer Welding Course

West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) will offer a 10-week Welding Institute over the summer starting June 2 through August 12, 2022. The course will run Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.

The Summer Welding Institute is designed to provide the skills necessary to enter the workforce immediately upon completion. Participants in this short-term intensive welding program will complete courses that includes OSHA 10, SMAW I & II, blueprint reading, MIG, TIG and essential soft skills to help prepare for a career. Certificates will be awarded in OSHA 10 General Industry and students will have the opportunity to test for welding certifications in SMAW vertical, and 3 position plate welds, MIG and TIG plate welds, and pipe welds.

“The summer Welding Institute is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to get trained in a short period of time and then quickly transition into a great career,” commented WVNCC Executive Director of Businesses Services and Corporate Training, Karri Mulhern. “By the end of the summer participants can have multiple certifications and be well-trained.”

The Summer Welding Institute will take place in WVNCC’s Industrial Technology Center on their Wheeling Campus. The cost of the program in $4,599 and financial aid in available. Anyone interested can register online at www.wvncc.edu or call 304-214-8975.
