WVDOH Initiating New Projects Next Week in Wheeling Area

A few different state projects will begin this week in Ohio County, including two that will replace streetlights. Those projects are as follows:

A portion of US 40 (National Road), near Mount Wood Road, in Wheeling, will be restricted to one lane, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning Monday, March 24, 2024, through Friday, April 4, 2025, for streetlight replacements.

Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

A similar project involves portions of County Route 23 (Stone Church Road), will be restricted to lane, at the intersection of Kruger Street and Lounez Avenue, and the intersection of Lounez Avenue and Key Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on beginning Monday, March 24, 2025, through Friday, April 4, 2025, for streetlight replacements. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

PLUS, a portion of County Route 40/3, at 142 Gashell Run Road, will be restricted to one lane, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning Monday, March 24, 2025, through Friday, March 28, 2025, to relocate an electric pole. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the schedule for these projects.
