The Wheeling Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Wednesday morning in the North Park area.
Around 6:24 a.m., police and fire personnel were called to the North Park Apartments on Eagle Court for a man who was shot multiple times inside an apartment.
The victim was taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital by the Wheeling Fire Department for medical treatment, where he currently is in serious condition.
Additional information is limited as detectives continue investigating by interviewing witnesses and possible suspects.
